Aces Topple RockHounds, 11-5, as Mendoza Shines
The Alexandria Aces defeated the Midland RockHounds, 11-5, at Security Bank Ballpark. Alexandria center fielder Pablo Mendoza had a superb performance. He was 2 for 5 with 2 home runs and a walk. He drove in 7 runs and scored twice. Johnny Misner, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 9 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 3-0. With the win, Alexandria is 12-5.

Mendoza contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Alexandria in the top of the third. With his team trailing 2-0, Mendoza took a sinker from Ian Franco and stroked the home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Aces to leap in front, 3-2.

"We're in a little bit of a dry spell," said Midland manager T.J. Saddler.
