Shreveport 9-6 After Beating Aces
Shreveport got a first-rate effort from pitcher Steve Mullen, who frustrated Alexandria hitters en route to a 2-1 Engineers triumph at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Mullen picked up the win for Shreveport, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. The Aces, now 5-10 this season, have struggled to play .500 ball.

The Engineers got a big at-bat from right fielder Holden Pearson. For the game, Pearson went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Shreveport a 2-0 lead.

"Steve's a gamer," said Shreveport manager Bryce Scott. "Glad he's on our side."
