Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Montgomery Biscuits and Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

The Montgomery Biscuits did just enough to sneak past the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, 6-5, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Montgomery pitcher Alex Briggs, in particular, had a standout performance. Briggs picked up the win for Montgomery, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.

Montgomery shortstop Casimer Bureau contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two down, he hit a cutter to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 10th hit of the season and put the Biscuits ahead, 6-4.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Montgomery manager Hector Bonilla.

Montgomery has a mark of 5-7 after the win.
