The Alexandria Aces pinned a convincing loss on the Corpus Christi Hooks, 9-3, at Blue Wahoos Stadium. Nate Vicente was a main factor in the win. He went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk for Alexandria. The Aces, now 8-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.

Alexandria went up, 5-3, on Cristián Ortega's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Ortega hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Corpus Christi pitcher Sean Brickhouse feeling deflated.

"If it's down the middle," said Vicente, "you might as well hit it."
