Tennessee Rallies for 8-5 Victory
|
The rain did not keep Tennessee and Montgomery from finishing their game.
José Lamas knocked in 3 runs to help Tennessee beat Montgomery, 8-5. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native tallied 1 single and 1 home run. The win gives Tennessee a record of 4-6.
Had Martin Nuñez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Nuñez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 6-5, in favor of the Smokies.
"It never gets old," said Nuñez. "Winning, that is."
