Even as a kid, Karter Scott said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, Scott showed how well he learned that lesson.

The 25-year-old first baseman had 5 hits in 5 at-bats for the Montgomery Biscuits, helping his team knock off the Biloxi Shuckers by a score of 19-2.

"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did."

Karter Scott hit a solo-shot off Bobby Hanks in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Bobby Hanks in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
