Johnny De La Cruz never let the Barnstormers get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his cutter, to pitch the Pilots to a win, 4-0. Sha'kil Wilson earned his 37th save, after closing out the game. The Pilots now have a mark of 86-50.
Andrew Stamets had a direct impact on the outcome. Stamets contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Wichita up, 2-0.
"When Johnny is on, he can really move the ball around," said Wichita manager Ryan Coleman.
