RubberDucks Wiggle Past Quebec, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Akron RubberDucks and the Quebec Metros, 25-year old right-handed pitcher Lorne Gallo was the difference-maker. The Akron right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Dave Barrett claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 2-14. The RubberDucks go to 52-83 with the win.
Cabrito Vargas had a direct impact on the outcome. Vargas contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Akron up, 2-1.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Gallo said.
