The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Lincoln Bighorns, 6-5, in 12 innings. Much of the credit belonged to third baseman Johnny Swider, who was 4-6 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Yard Goats. Hartford's record now stands at 60-71, placing them 7th in the Eastern League North Division.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 12th. With one out, Swider hit a fastball from Karl Jones for a run-scoring single. The Yard Goats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

In postgame comments, Swider said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
