Matthews, Frigates Too Much for RubberDucks
Sidney Matthews impressed in the 14-8 Halifax win over Akron. Matthews, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2044 draft, was 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 7. Halifax is now 49-76, while Akron is 62-63.

With Halifax leading 3-0 in the bottom of the second, Matthews hit a slider from Hanford Allen for a bases-clearing double. It was his 14th double of the season and put the Frigates ahead, 6-0.

"Glad to go home with a win," said Matthews.
