RubberDucks K-O Metros, 3-0
|
The Akron RubberDucks beat the Quebec Metros, 3-0. Akron pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Eunice Cuellar led the way. Brock Partin earned the save for Akron, his 2nd of the year. Akron goes to 7-1 with the win.
With scoring opportunities rare, the RubberDucks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when center fielder Alexander Maner hit a 2-run single. The single came off Laurencio Hedgspeth and made the score 3-0, RubberDucks. Maner was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.
Akron manager Damon Cordero commended his team for "bagging a nice win."
