Erie Loses Again, 2-1
|
The Hartford Yard Goats trumped the Erie SeaWolves, 2-1, at Jerry Uht Park. Hartford third baseman Dylan Leonard was terrific. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks. Shaun Webb earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 8-9. Carter Scott locked down his 26th save.
Tom Gardenhire, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Gardenhire contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the seventh inning to put Hartford up, 2-1.
"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said Erie manager Chris Jachim. "You need to let the game come to you."
The 7th-place Yard Goats raised their record to 53-72.
