Rumble Ponies Deal Curve 3-2 Defeat
|
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies, despite a fine performance by Altoona pitcher Miguel Perica, grabbed a 3-2 win at People's Natural Gas Field. Perica allowed no runs over 5.2 innings. Rhett Bragg collected his 2nd save. The 4th-place Rumble Ponies are now 62-62, the Curve 77-47.
Had Chávez Feliz not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Feliz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Rumble Ponies.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Binghamton skipper Zane Tharp.
