Altoona left fielder Woodrow Collins had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Quebec Metros, 6-4. Reliever Randy Castriotta picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Raymond Piper took the loss. With the win, Altoona lifts its record to 4-3.
Collins had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-1 fastball from Raymond Piper, he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Curve a 6-4 lead. It was the 4th home run of the year for Collins.
Altoona manager Matt Hartford commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
