The Gateway Grizzlies weathered a fine game by Akron second baseman Axl Cork to upend the RubberDucks, 6-5, at FNB Field. Cork hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Gateway is now 53-69, while Akron is 75-47.

Shaun Krantz was the walk-off hero for Gateway. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Grizzlies pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"That was a lot of fun, watching both teams compete," said Grizzlies manager Elijah Holmes.
