The Gateway Grizzlies stopped the Lancaster Barnstormers, 8-4, at FirstEnergy Stadium. The Grizzlies got a big game from Cole Thomas, who was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Quinn Carpenter notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3 innings. His record now sits at 5-4. The Grizzlies sport a record of 47-74.
Austin Bogue had a nice at-bat for the Grizzlies with no one out in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, the shortstop hit a run-scoring single, which would prove important in the Gateway win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Thomas told a Gateway Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
