Grizzlies Knock Off Metros at FNB Field
|
Quebec wasted a solid 6.1-inning effort from starting pitcher Jim Clark, losing to Gateway, 2-1, at FNB Field. Chris Sanders, who went 5.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 1-0. Tyler Hooper wrapped it up, recording his 3rd save.
Carson Lindeke helped out the Gateway cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 3.
"Tough loss," said Quebec manager Justin Maurer. "But we'll rebound from it."
Quebec is 2-4 after the defeat.
