Altoona starter Lloyd Silva pitched effectively against the Bowie Baysox at Prince George's Stadium. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-1. Silva got the win, improving to 5-6. He gave up 8 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. He allowed 1 run. The last-place Baysox now sit at 47-77.
In the bottom of the ninth, Raiden Norman stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Baysox were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 2nd and 3rd. That's when Marco Mantecon made a terrific pitch and Norman flied out. Gone was the dream of a Bowie comeback.
