Pilots Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
Pitcher Johnny De La Cruz was sensational for the Wichita Pilots in his team's 1-0 triumph over the Lincoln Bighorns. De La Cruz earned the win. In 7.1 innings, De La Cruz surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Sha'kil Wilson notched his 35th save of the season.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Pilots had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when catcher Hunter Yeo hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Sam Rhodes and made the score 1-0, Pilots. Yeo went 2-4 with 2 singles.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Jackson Ladue.

Wichita, now 76-45, holds down third place in the Eastern League Southwest Division.
