Close Win Moves Metros to 46-75
|
The Quebec Metros dealt the Portland Sea Dogs a 6-5 loss at Hadlock Field. Owen Parsons, who is tied for 9th in the EL in hits with 126, was the star on offense. He went 4 for 5 with 4 singles. Timoteo Centeno picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-0. Fletch Spurgeon was tagged with the loss. The Metros raised their record to 46-75.
It could have been a different outcome for Quebec, had it not been for Jason Chesney, the 22-year old left fielder . Chesney contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth inning to put Quebec up, 6-2.
"I liked our effort," said Metros manager Zeke Butler.
