On Road, Erie Drops Hartford, 4-2
|
Fans were not deterred by the threat of rain. They came to see their hometown Hartford Yard Goats take on the Erie SeaWolves.
The Erie SeaWolves earned a win at Dunkin' Donuts Park, stopping the Hartford Yard Goats, 4-2. Starting pitcher Scotty Hill played a big role in his team's success. Joe Tackett notched his 3rd save of the season.
Erie used a clutch at-bat from Hudson Remedies to capture the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the SeaWolves ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We gave it the old college try," said Hartford manager Marco Rios. "But the old college try wasn't good enough."
The losses continue to add up for Hartford, having now dropped 11 straight.
