Yonkers Wins, 3-2, in Extra Innings
|
The Yonkers Dark Knights, despite a fine performance by Erie pitcher Mike Edgcomb, grabbed a 3-2 win in 12 innings at Gunslingers Ballpark. Edgcomb allowed 1 run over 6 innings. The victory puts Yonkers at 49-72.
The decisive blow was delivered by Stu Curry in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jammer Dougherty to win the game for Yonkers. The home crowd went nuts.
"That was a backyard tug-of-war," said Dark Knights manager Vince Hendrix.
