Bighorns Beat Patriots, 4-2
|
Lincoln Bighorns starter Brien Nava turned in a top-notch performance against the Somerset Patriots at ONEOK Field. The result was a win for the Bighorns, 4-2. Lincoln is now 74-46, Somerset 61-59.
The Bighorns got a big at-bat from left fielder Fernando Portal. For the game, Portal went 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 28th home run of the season gave Lincoln a 3-0 lead.
After the game, Lincoln manager Brian Doyle applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
