Crabs Nip RubberDucks, 3-2
|
Providence Crabs starter Vince Zink was in fine form against the Akron RubberDucks at Holyoke Grounds, leading his team to a win, 3-2. Zink, now 3-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Earning his 8th save for Providence was Dylan Foti.
The Crabs got a big hit from third baseman Curtiss May. In the bottom of the fifth, May pounded a solo home run to center. His 4th home run of the season put the Crabs ahead, 3-1.
"Vince was throwing free and easy," said Providence manager Miguel Moya.
The win makes Providence 53-67.
