6-2 Loss to Rumble Ponies Extends Halifax Losing Streak
|
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies faced a tough opponent in Halifax pitcher Mike Daugherty, but did just enough to pull out the victory at NYSEG Stadium by a final score of 6-2. Daugherty went 5 innings and allowed 1 run. Binghamton reliever Troy Hunt picked up the win to move to 1-0. Roberto Feliz suffered the loss. With their winning streak at 5, the Rumble Ponies have raced to a strong start this season.
Had it not been for Herb Rice, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the seventh inning, when the Rumble Ponies were trailing 2-1, Rice hit a 2-run single for Binghamton, giving his team the lead.
Rice told a Binghamton News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
