The Altoona Curve got a magnificent performance from pitcher Rafael Diaz, who muffled the Providence offense en route to a tight, 2-0 Curve win at Holyoke Grounds. Hansel Morrow picked up the save, his 2nd. The Curve now own a record of 61-49.

Altoona used the hitting of Steve Gray to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Curve on top, 2-0. For the game, Gray had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We leaned on our pitching tonight," Gray said.
