Norman Fear was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. In fact, the Bowie Baysox right-hander was instrumental in his team's 2-1 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. Fear picked up the win for Bowie, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-9. Bowie is now 51-60.
Bowie used the timely hitting of Randi Bautista to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Baysox on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"We had the right guys up at the right times," said New Hampshire manager Mario Javier. "We just didn't cash in."
