Bighorns Pick Up 7-5 Win
|
The Lincoln Bighorns defeated the Hartford Yard Goats, 7-5, at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Leading the charge for Lincoln was first baseman Ramón Sonora. He was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Valentín Arian got the win, improving to 8-3. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 5 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. The losing streak for Hartford has now reached 5 games.
Early in the game, Sonora had a grand slam home run for Lincoln. It was his 10th home run of the season and put the Bighorns on top, 5-1.
"I warned the team before the game," losing manager Bill Medina told reporters, "that I'm wearing the same pair of undies until we win."
