Xavier Roy pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Wichita Pilots, despite Roy's fine outing, dropped a 3-0 decision to the Altoona Curve at Regions Field. Scott Rivera, who is tied for 10th in the EL with a 1.19 WHIP, was the winner. He's now 7-2. The loser was Xavier Roy. The third-place Curve lifted their record to 58-45.

R.J. Ford had a direct impact on the outcome. Ford contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Altoona up, 2-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Wichita manager Juan Camarena.
