Curve Skid Hits 8 Games
|
The Akron RubberDucks topped the Altoona Curve by the score of 7-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to second baseman Gage Timko. Timko was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 runs for the RubberDucks on the day. Akron reliever Owen Franklin picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Hunter Rentschler shouldered the loss. The slumping Curve have lost 8 straight.
It could have been a different outcome for Akron, had it not been for Carlos Beatty, the 23-year old left fielder . Beatty contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Akron up, 2-1.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Timko. "More importantly, I had a good game."
