Grizzlies Rally For 3-2 Win
|
The Gateway Grizzlies had to overcome a fine effort from Hartford pitcher Nyjer Bethea to grab a narrow 3-2 win at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Bethea went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. P.J. Sayles, now 7-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. The Grizzlies improve their record to 35-66 with the win over Hartford.
Gateway used a well-timed hit by Cole Thomas to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Grizzlies ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"It feels good to get this one," Thomas told the Gateway Daily News.
