The Somerset Patriots beat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 4-3. Somerset pitcher and Talmage, California, native Kean Nagai led the way. Somerset, now 54-45, holds down 5th place in the Eastern League Southwest Division.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Somerset third baseman Mario Haynes, facing Teddy Lopez, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Patriots the 4-3 win.
"Credit where credit is due," said Nagai, "this was a team win."
