The Erie SeaWolves got a superb performance from second baseman Caleb Whitman, but the Quebec Metros still won the game, 7-5. Whitman went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Rosario Zarate got credit for the win, improving to 5-7. He allowed 5 runs on 11 hits in 6 innings. Gino Luna was credited with the save for Quebec, his 1st of the season.

The SeaWolves had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Metros going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old shortstop Oliver Gallo came to the plate. Gallo hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Erie hurler Lee Youse. It was Gallo's 11th double of the year.

"We didn't play well enough to win," Erie skipper Al Alcantara said.

Quebec has now won 3 straight, while the SeaWolves have lost 3 in a row.
