|
Max Fagundes, who leads the EL with a 1.03 WHIP, was in top form in a tight contest between Somerset and Binghamton. The Patriots right-hander helped his team beat the Rumble Ponies, 2-0. Fagundes, now 10-3, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. Earning his 8th save for Somerset was Hudson McElveen.
Making an impact for Somerset was center fielder Michelangelo White. He drilled a double off Brian Vincent in the bottom of the third. For the game, White was 2-4 with a double.
"We didn't score," said losing manager Zane Tharp. "That was the problem."
Somerset sits in first place in the Eastern League Southwest Division at 62-31.
