Sea Dogs Win Thriller, 6-5
|
The Portland Sea Dogs overcame a fine performance by Yonkers left fielder Jaxson Daniels to defeat the Dark Knights, 6-5, at Hadlock Field. Daniels went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Portland is now 34-59.
The Sea Dogs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when right fielder Hilario Nava turned a 0-2 fastball from Leeroy Watson into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent a roar through the crowd and gave Portland a thrilling 6-5 win.
"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Nava. "Maybe this win will help."
