Due in part to first baseman Joe Kaye, the Lincoln Bighorns chopped down the Somerset Patriots, 9-7, in 10 innings. Kaye went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. The loss puts Somerset at 2-1.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the tenth, with the game tied, Christopher Carlin was at the plate when Lincoln scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Bighorns to go in front, 8-7.

Carlin told a Lincoln Daily reporter that he felt "ecstatic" after the win.
