RubberDucks Get Hard-Earned Win, Stop Bighorns, 3-2
|
The Lincoln Bighorns got a whale of a performance from pitcher Matt Telecky, but the Akron RubberDucks still prevailed, 3-2, in 13 innings. Telecky threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Akron reliever Lewie Atwell picked up the win, while Hayden Pleasanton took the loss for Lincoln. Lincoln now is 2-1.
The RubberDucks got a clutch hit from designated hitter Crispin Hoge. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the RubberDucks.
"This win should put a little bounce in our step," said Hoge.
