Ravens Stay Hot with Extra-Inning Win
|
The New Haven Ravens picked up a win at The Ballpark at Jackson, downing the Altoona Curve, 4-3, in 12 innings. On the mound for New Haven was right-hander Maxwell Rinehart, who played a pivotal role in the win. The Eastern League North Division-leading Ravens have a record of 59-28.
The decisive blow was delivered by Aitor Toribio in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a solo home run off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Hansel Morrow to win the game for New Haven. The home crowd went nuts.
"It was a test of wills," said Mark Ennis, the New Haven skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
