RubberDucks Go Down to Defeat, 5-1
|
Somerset right fielder Johnny Bender was a significant contributor in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Akron RubberDucks. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Patriots. The first-place Patriots bumped their record to 59-28.
Making an impact for Somerset was third baseman Palmer Holley. He drilled a double off DeReece Reagor in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Holley was 1 for 3 with a double.
"Johnny is still learning," said Patriots manager Alex Chavez. "The sky's the limit for him."
