Giles Fires Shutout in Altoona Victory
The New Haven Ravens were almost helpless in their 8-0 loss to the Altoona Curve and hurler Roger Giles. Giles kept the Ravens confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Giles," New Haven manager Mark Ennis said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 22-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Giles said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."
