Barnstormers Lose Late to Dark Knights
|
Yonkers turned a fine outing from starter Jason Towery into a victory over the Lancaster Barnstormers at Gunslingers Ballpark. The final score was 5-1. Yonkers reliever Drake Keeter got the win, raising his record to 4-2. Chris White was tagged with the loss. The Dark Knights move to 38-43 with the win, while the Barnstormers drop to 35-46.
Uriah Nixon chipped in for Yonkers, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the bottom of the eighth inning. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Nixon said after the game.
