Metros Lose as Baysox Stage Late Rally
|
Quebec got a decent performance from pitcher Laurencio Hedgspeth, but it wasn't enough to beat the Bowie Baysox. Bowie won the Metros Ballpark contest, 6-4. Hedgspeth threw 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Bowie reliever Mal Maginnis was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Israel Heinrichs. Picking up his 4th save was fireballing right-hander Tae-Yul Kim.
West Springfield, Virginia-born Raiden Norman came through in the clutch. In the top of the eighth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Baysox trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to left to put Bowie on top.
Said Bowie manager Mike Pascarella: "Our approach was outstanding all night long."
The 8th-place Baysox lifted their record to 33-50.
