Akron Dismisses Yonkers, 6-1
Spirited fans greeted the Yonkers Dark Knights for their clash with the Akron RubberDucks.

The Akron RubberDucks torpedoed the Yonkers Dark Knights at Gunslingers Ballpark. The final score was 6-1, Akron. George Waters went 1-for-1 for the winning team. Noah Giese was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was Erich Hewitt.

With Akron leading 2-1 in the top of the ninth, Waters hit a sinker from Tony Kollins for a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the RubberDucks ahead, 5-1.

"It was our day today," Waters told the Akron Times. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."

The loss makes Yonkers 1-2.
