The 2061 Double A season began inauspiciously for the Portland Sea Dogs. The Sea Dogs were outclassed, 8-0, by the Yonkers Dark Knights. Jeb Elder went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 in the contest. Viviano Lucero was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed no runs on 3 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts.

With Yonkers leading 1-0 in the top of the first, Elder hit a fastball from Riley Jones for a 2-run double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Dark Knights ahead, 3-0.
