Ravens Win at Erie, 7-2
|
The New Haven Ravens defeated the Erie SeaWolves, 7-2, at Jerry Uht Park. New Haven was led by 23-year old second baseman Ferdinand Pérez, who went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs. The winning pitcher was Sheldon Bloomquist. He's now 2-1. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 6 hits for the Ravens. The last-place SeaWolves have dropped 4 straight games.
R.J. Niemi went 1-3, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for New Haven. The former first round draft pick had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a 2-run single off Levon Frank. It was his 31st hit of the season.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Pérez said after the game.
