One Run Not Enough for Baysox
|
Bowie pitcher Mohan Lucas gave the Metros all they could handle, but in the end, Quebec left Prince George's Stadium with a win, 2-1. Lucas allowed 2 runs on 6 hits over 7 innings. Marc Serrano closed the door for Quebec, picking up his 5th save of the year. Yes, it was a win for Quebec; but their 18-49 mark is nothing to crow about.
Quebec used the hitting of Rob Franzwa to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Metros on top, 2-1. For the game, Franzwa had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Runs were at a premium," said Quebec manager Justin Maurer.
