Ravens Edge Fisher Cats, 5-4
|
The inspired effort of New Hampshire first baseman Chadd Jackson was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the New Haven Ravens. Jackson was 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The winning pitcher was 25-year old left-handed pitcher DeAven Suggs. He tossed 88 pitches over 5.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits. Rudolph Conway stitched up the save, his 5th.
New Haven used a clutch at-bat from Dylan Gilbert to capture the win. The shortstop hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Ravens ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Jerry Lizalde.
The Ravens saw their record improve to 38-29.
