Providence Upended by Somerset, 4-1
|
The Somerset Patriots picked up a win at Arm & Hammer Park, dropping the Providence Crabs, 4-1. Bradford Little, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in wins with 7, was the difference-maker. The winning pitcher was Little, now 7-1. He tossed 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. Picking up his 6th save was 22-year old right-handed pitcher M.C. Bostock.
The Patriots got a big at-bat from center fielder Pau Galego. For the game, Galego went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 9th home run of the season gave Somerset a 2-1 lead.
"Bradford was exceptional and he pitched with a purpose," said Somerset manager Alex Chavez.
The Patriots saw their record improve to 38-26.
