The Yonkers Dark Knights did just enough to sneak past the Lancaster Barnstormers, 3-2, at Gunslingers Ballpark. Yonkers pitcher Viviano Lucero, in particular, had a standout performance. Lucero picked up the win for Yonkers, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 6-0. Paul Lieske, credited with the save, is now 6 for 6 in save opportunities.
Ralph Wanzer, who is tied for 7th in the EL in RBI with 36, aided the Yonkers cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the designated hitter drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate.
"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Yonkers manager Vince Hendrix.
At 37-24, the Dark Knights are currently first in the Eastern League North Division.
