The Wichita Pilots beat the Altoona Curve, 7-4, at People's Natural Gas Field. The Pilots got a fine performance from catcher Dave Wilkens, who went 2 for 4 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Picking up his 4th save was 27-year old left-handed pitcher Maxwell Darbouze. The Pilots saw their win-loss record go to 32-31. At the same time, the Curve fell to 35-28.

Wilkens contributed in the top of the fourth. With the bases loaded, he reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. It was one at-bat among others that helped Wichita get the win.

"I felt good up there," said Wilkens. "I saw the ball well."
