Quebec starter Connor Anderson clamped down on the Halifax offense, while his team cruised to victory, 13-2. Anderson, the winner, moves to 1-0. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 1 walk. Heath Armour earned save number 1.

The Metros got a big hit from designated hitter Micah Gatchel. Facing Halifax pitcher Lyle Sponseller in the bottom of the eighth, Gatchel pounded a 3-run home run to center. His 4th home run of the season put the Metros ahead, 13-2.

"They took us to the woodshed," said Halifax manager Ruben Figueredo.

The 5th-place Frigates dropped to 33-28.
