Frigates Sneak By RubberDucks, 5-4
|
Emmanuel Conroy had a big hand in Halifax's 5-4 triumph over Akron. He rattled off 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scoring 1 times and knocking in 2 runs. Halifax reliever Roberto Feliz picked up the win to move to 5-2. Clayton Waite suffered the loss. At 22-36, the Frigates find themselves in last place in the Eastern League North Division.
Conroy had a game-changing double in the top of the tenth. On a 0-1 slider from Clayton Waite, he banged a run-scoring double to left, giving the Frigates a 5-4 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Conroy.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Akron manager Darren Harris.
